Today is National Taffy Day. I remember standing in front of this taffy maker for so long with my Grandma Margaret at the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa. It was usually later at night, after the grandstand show. But it was still going. I remember my grandma always got the black walnut (I don't like black walnuts, probably why I remember what she got) and I don't remember what flavor I got.
