Part VII *sigh* The Rose Garden Garden of Quilts I was blessed to have won a single-day pass to attend the Garden of Quilts in the Ashton Gardens located at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT! So late Friday afternoon…road trip! The plan was to stay the night so that Rob could drop me off first thing Saturday morning and he’d head over to Cabela’s for a bit, intending to meet me later in the Gardens. Oh! Such a joyous feeling to walk into the lobby and I saw a tiny glimpse of so much greenery beyond the reception desk! Exhilarating! Also, I got a preview of sorts when I judged my future garden walk-through based on a quick run/through of their gift shop which was adjacent to the right of the front desk. First of all? The “GARDEN Shop” instead of naming it the GIFT Shop. Cuteness overload! I eventually make it outside. Gleeee!!! The 50-acre brief overview stuns me! Oh! I’m going to have soooo much fun!!! And I sure did! It was a walk through paradise not only in and of its garden-self but viewing all the exquisitely made quilts on display! W O W!!! I could not get enough of it all!!! I did not want the day to end! I attended some great discussions. I met such lovely people. I got plenty of photo ops. There was a Rose Garden!!! And loads of trees! And plants were abundant! And a waterfall! And a stream! I listened to idyllic classical music wafting throughout. I purchased my first quilting kit. (Yesterday, I did sign up for a virtual quilting class!) It was a glorious, amazing day and to top it off, as we’re heading to dinner and thereafter bound for home…I receive a text informing me that I won a hexagon quilt in the raffle drawing I entered!!! Whaaaat!? No way!!!??? I’m so very grateful! Rob did eventually meet me in the gardens, having been surprised with a Car Show in the Cabela’s parking lot which kept him busy for five hours when the car show talk then retail therapy was completed…around 3pm in the afternoon! He was astounded at the Gardens! And! Joy! I had thought quilts were not his thing but I’m ever so thankful that he saw the intricacy and beauty of the art. Elated when he’d point out some of his favorites and provide commentary! Such a wonderful, idyllic day! 🤗💕🤗 9.14.24 Saturday
