Acorn squash we planted in my daughter's garden. I have a couple more sitting on my kitchen counter. It may seem early for acorn squash, but we had to pick them as soon as they got a little size to them because of the dry conditions. It's been years since I've baked any. I usually use only butter and brown sugar. Since I couldn't remember the oven temperature and time, I looked up a similar recipe. It called for the addition of salt and maple syrup. I had to search my kitchen for maple syrup and finally found some in a maple-leaf shaped glass container that we picked up at a local farm quite a while back. They will go well with pork chops, I think.
