Tidbit for today: Dum-Dums was invented at the Akron Candy Company in Bellevue, Ohio in 1924. A company executive selected the name because he felt that it would be easy for kids to say and to remember. The Spangler Candy Company purchased Dum-Dums in 1953 and moved the operations to Bryan, Ohio, where they produced 84 million lollipops that very same year. Today, Spangler produces 12 million lollipops EVERY DAY, making Bryan, Ohio, the LOLLIPOP CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! 😋
