Part I The house that Pa built. Pa actually built several places in DeSmet, SD not for his family but for other homeowners and businesses. It was so intriguing to see all the original craftsmanship that Charles Ingalls built! The tour guide stated that he is actually known as DeSmet’s patriarch as he was very involved with the community throughout their time there!
