Hi, everyone! My name is Brenda and I am the executive assistant to Nicole and Melissa here at Modern Prairie. I am LONG overdue for an introduction. I found my way to Modern Prairie through Nicole. I used to work as her assistant at a previous company about four years ago. I would follow Nicole to Mars so when she approached me with this opportunity to join a fabulous community of women, I could not say no. I am from Los Angeles/Orange County but am residing for the time being in the PNW with my husband and two kids: Des, 4 years old and Emelda, 19 months old. I am going to be forty next year (Feb 29th!–Leap Day!) and am finding the transition from my 30s to 40s is more of a struggle than it was going from my 20s to my 30s. There are so many drastic changes in the physical and hormonal as we enter midlife. My mother died when I was eight (she was only thirty-three) and I never got to see a woman age so I don’t even know what to expect or how to approach getting older. Since becoming a part of Modern Prairie, I have gained so much insight into the next phase of life and absolutely adore the community we are creating here. I am so happy to meet all of you! —B.
